Night Thought of Brian Finlay Whilst Suffering from Jetlag at 3am the Evening/Morning Before I Go Back To Work

Who played a better Brandon Walsh?

Was it Josh Brolin in The Goonies or Jason Priestley in Beverly Hills 90210? This debate has been on everyone's mind for nearly two decades and I still don't think anyone has come to a valid conclusion.

Jason Priestley had ten years to perfect the character of Brandon Walsh, however Josh Brolin probably shot the movie in a few months. I've heard some historians suggest that Jason Priestley had more time in the role and he therefore had more time to develop a much more thorough character.

The character of Brandon Walsh was in high school in both Goonies and Beverly Hills 90210, but please note that Priestley was in his mid-20's while playing the role. Therefore he had some more experience with acting to really delve into the role of Brandon Walsh. Josh Brolin was a teenager at the time though so he was able to use his own personal teen angst at the time. Plus he had Spielberg helping him out on the film. Not that producer Aaron Spelling isn't comparable to Steven Spielberg.

I suppose these reasons listed above are why we can never decide who portayed the Brandon Walsh character better.

Let us thank our lucky stars there is only one Jim and Cindy Walsh, because there is no comparison to the acting skills of James Eckhouse and Carol Potter.
